I’ll Like Your For Always

Man, why can’t I read that “I’ll Love Your Forever” book without choking up? It’s not like I haven’t read it a dozen times before. It’s not like I don’t know it’s trying to toy with my emotions. But reading those words, “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be,” while reading to your children while holding your baby…well I had to get my ten year old to finish reading the last page, I was so so verklempt.

The best part: upon seeing the illustration of the grown up man rocking his little old lady of a mother back and forth, back and forth, back and forth….my ten year old starting crying too.

  1. I’ve always thought the mother in that book was a little creepy – especially when she brought a ladder over and climbed through the window to rock her grown son.Creepy.

My children will always be the most important people in my life and I will always love them. I like the sentiment of the book, but at some point, that mom had to realize her son wasn’t a baby anymore.
